Live With Love

I came across this beautiful image on Late Afternoon blog  featuring these Nikki Reed for 7FAM story telling bracelet set available here.  The outside design is fine and unique, with the insides detailed with the words "Live with Love" inscribed.

Today's Self Restraint Level: 4/10

I am supposed to be on a semi shopping ban, theoretically at least, as I save my pennies for Europe, and I have told myself to only buy things that are a bargain or necessity. It just isn't going so well. I think I have a bit of a problem.
The morning went well, browsing through the masses of junk at Camberwell Market, I bought a silver leaf cuff, a silver coin and beads necklace for my sister and two fake silver rings with sapphires for a total of $17.

After the markets my friend Nicole and I headed to Chapel Street, and where else would we find ourselves other than Green With Envy? Stumbling across a pair of BLK Denim jeans in the perfect shade of washed out black, the sales assistant told me they were 20% off today, so she put them in the change room as I went to find another top to wear them with. I chose the MSGM Aztec Print top that I had posted about a couple of weeks ago here.

Once I had this beautiful top on, there was no going back. The jeans were great, and looked particularly awesome with the top, but I wasn't allowing myself to purchase two items, and it had to be the top. With 10% off it came to $270, so a little more than I should be spending on my "budget". I won't regret it though. I can't wait to wear her in Europe.

In the meantime (6.5 weeks until takeoff), I think my only option is to become a recluse. It really is the perfect weather to stay indoors all weekend in PJs watching 30 Rock until my eyes are sore.
If you're in the Southern Hemisphere too, I hope you've found a nice way to embrace the cooler weather.

Equipment Shirt: The Verdict

Unfortunately, as I had suspected, the Equipment shirt's oversized style doesn't look as nice on myself as it did on Carine Roitfeld or Sara Donaldson in my previous post. It does, however, feel incredibly luxurious, and I encourage any woman with an appreciation for quality materials to try one on for themselves. I could possibly have one tailored to fit, but it just seems like far too much of a hassle (and risk) for lazy ol' me.
The search for the perfect silk shirt continues...

Sorry about the embarrassingly shoddy iPhone 3, fitting room photographs. In the left photo I'm wearing J Brand jeans and Senso boots, and on the right, an Ellery skirt I tried on, just for fun..

Who loves short shorts?

I love short shorts!
My leather obsession never ends, really, so it comes as no surprise that these structured leather shorts are right up my alley.

The Perfect Shirt: Equipment

The Equipment signature silk shirt has been a wardrobe staple since the 90s, and with its reincarnation in recent years, women have been lining up in droves to get their hands on one. I am lusting after a khaki coloured one, available via net-a-porter here, I fear this love affair will be short lived though. With my petite size six frame (US size 2), over sized shirts can swim on me in a completely unflattering way. The sizing reviews I've read are a little mixed, but the majority opinion is that the sizes are very large, even for an oversized style. I'll have to try one on and see for myself. Fingers crossed.

Look at this captivating rainbow of silk deliciousness at the Equipment Melrose store. I almost want to eat them.

Saturday Shopping

I spent Saturday wandering around the city endeavouring to stock up on a few essentials. I'm in need of winter clothes at the moment, as Melbourne is currently drab and bleak, however my impending European holiday also calls for some summer attire, so I headed to Melbourne Central to stock up on tee shirts at Dotti's $10 sale. They're made quite well and last for years. They're such a bargain!

Dotti cotton t-shirts and long sleeve tops. Available here.

I also found my perfect transeasonal hat at Kookai. Over the years I've looked for hats and have never found any that tick all the boxes; my tiny head doesn't help the situation, but I'm also very picky when it comes to these things. The brims have always been too tough or too floppy. This Kookai hat has proven to be this Goldilocks' favourite - it is just right.
Kookai felt hat $50 seen left in the Kookai winter campaign, and right on the beautiful Pia Miller.

At Myer, I came across this jumper at Cue which I am practically living in now. I wore it Saturday night after purchasing it, and then again on Sunday and to work today. It's so comfortable and is a well priced option for me, as all the other jumpers I've liked so far have been around the $300 mark.
Cue contrast knit sweater $115 available here.

Four tops, 1 jumper and a hat for only $205. I'm quite pleased with myself. Cheers to shopping on a budget!
Sunday's casual autumn look for running errands in the city and eating street food at the markets by the arts centre.
Wearing: Kookai hat, Dotti l/s top, Cue knit sweater, Bardot jeans, Senso bertie boots, black foldover clutch.
